Nick Percat, aged 21, has been racing for 12 years, and has become a major force since entering motorsport through Sprint Karts. In recent years Nick has dominated in Aussie Racing Cars, finishing an amazing 2nd outright in 2006 in a class field which at times had the likes of Neil Crompton, and Paul Morris at the wheel. Driving the 2/3rd sized Aussie Racing Car, Nick managed to keep almost everyone behind him through 2006!
The 2008 season in National Formula Ford showed Nick has the speed to win domestically, and also on the world stage with stunning wins in Australia, and in the United Kingdom at the prestigious Formula Ford Festival, Brands Hatch.
2009 has been a stellar year for Nick so far, with 12 wins bringing his National Championship wins to 22, smashing the previous record held for 15 years.
Nick has now won more races in Formula Ford than Both Brabham brothers, Mark Webber, Craig Lowndes, and Jamie Whincup COMBINED!! And in less races...
Fans, Officials, and senior staff in pitlane have all been impressed with his winning speed and clean driving in 2009..... Nick will be looking to set the benchmark even higher come 2010.
Nick is the only driver to EVER finish in the top 2 in Formula Ford whilst also being top 8 for the GOLD STAR having only completed 2 guest drives in F3 (out of the year)...all in the same year!(2008)
Marc (Dad) and Ian Hall (mechanic), have been big influences so far in his racing career, along with SONIC team boss Mick Ritter. But before racing at a national level in motorsport, Ben Hall (Karting Mechanic) was a major influence as he taught him the importance of clean equipment, and looking professional at the track.
Nick's ambition is to go as far as possible in motorsport, which domestically would mean V8supercar, while Internationally F1 is still a goal. Nick would like to thank Percat Automotive and Ian Hall for their support and faith in Nick.
The question remains, will the Australian business community support the best young driver to ever compete in Formula Ford?
